Although he’ll be seen in Fast & Furious 7 next year, the late Paul Walker‘s final completed film is the English-language remake of the French action-thriller District B13 and today brings the first trailer. Coming from director Camille Delamarre, who is set to next helm the fourth film in The Transporter franchise, the script is written by Luc Besson.
This time set in Detroit, we track Walker as an undercover cop who teams with a local parkour master (David Belle, returning after leading the original film) to take down a drug kingpin, played by none other than RZA. As a major fan of the action in the first film, hopefully this one stacks up to it and one can see the full trailer below, along with the poster.
In a dystopian Detroit, abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. For undercover cop Damien Collier (Paul Walker) every day is a battle against corruption. For Lino (David Belle), every day is a fight to live an honest life. Their paths never should have crossed, but when drug kingpin, Tremaine (RZA) kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, Damien reluctantly accepts the help of the fearless ex-convict, and together they must stop a sinister plot to devastate the entire city. With stylized action featuring thrilling Parkour stunts (David Belle is the co-founder of the physical training discipline), Brick Mansions puts an entertaining twist on the action genre.
Brick Mansions opens on April 25th.
