Creating one of the most iconic brands in history, Walt Disney‘s legacy has lived on and will likely continue to do so until the world’s end. For a new project, he’s brought to life by one of Hollywood’s most affable performers, Tom Hanks. Following the premiere of the first still, the first full-length trailer for Saving Mr. Banks has now landed.
Coming from The Blind Side‘s John Lee Hancock, the film follows the struggles of Walt Disney to obtain rights from P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) for the book of Mary Poppins, which eventually led to the family classic. The first trailer does its best to convey a charming, heart-tugging family film and it mostly succeeds on that note. With a cast that also includes B.J. Novak, Colin Farrell, Bradley Whitford, Jason Schwartzman, Paul Giamatti, and Ruth Wilson, watch the trailer below.
Saving Mr. Banks will open on December 20th, 2013 and in limited theaters the week before.
