Premiering this weekend at New York Comic-Con was the first teaser for the Kimberly Peirce (Boy’s Don’t Cry) remake of Brian De Palma’s 1976 horror classic Carrie and now it’s made its way online tonight — and this one is very much a teaser. Showing nothing more than a single shot, we are introduced to our new lead in the Stephen King adaptation and the wreckage that she brings.
Chloe Grace Moretz takes over for Sissy Spacek here, while Julianne Moore slides into the role of religious mother, but is not seen here. Since this piece is nothing more than a teaser, albeit effective, there isn’t much to glean, but Peirce seems to be going for a bigger is better approach.
