A prequel to one of Quentin Tarantino‘s often overlooked works has been written JoBlo reports. Titled The Switch, the film is prequel of the 1997 film starring Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Michael Keaton and Robert De Niro. Although Tarantino has “given his blessing” he will not be involved in any capacity.
Dan Schecter has written the script, based on the adaptation of the book. It is reported that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Be Cool producer will be producing with The Switch author Elmore Leonard will be executive producer to the film. There is no studio attached yet but they are currently in search for a director and cast. JoBlo also points us to a February Telegraph UK interview with Tarantino, as he talked about his inspiration from The Switch:
He was probably the biggest influence on my life: I have been reading Leonard since I was 14 and got caught stealing his novel The Switch from K-Mart. I got in huge trouble. I was grounded all summer long. But I was so pissed off that I didn’t manage to get the book that two days later I went back and stole it proper.

Hopefully it doesn’t get confused with this Switch.
