While I don’t think I’ve yet to meet a single person who dislikes Ghostbusters, I’ve also never encountered a single fan who would be inclined to call the movie “deep.” (Well-composed as a whole enterprise, sure… but let’s be serious for a second.) As if this would stop some outside forces from looking further, a small collection of admirers have formed their own theories that, often, connect to personal experiences which concern both the movie at hand and their everyday lives — say, didn’t we already get this documentary?

Well, if Rodney Ascher started a trend, consider what follows the second step: a trailer for the Room 237-esque work Spook Central has landed online, finally showing, once and for all, how fans will read into the screenplays of Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. The degree to which it’s done comes across as terrifying, in some way, but makes for a nonetheless entertaining, brief look at what might prove an enlightening documentary — or just turn out as absolute nonsense. A bit of both will likely wind up as the end result.
