If by some chance you never got around to seeing Boyhood this past summer, Richard Linklater‘s coming-of-age opus is now available to stream, and with it, IFC Films have delivered a worthwhile featurette. Clocking in over ten minutes, it explores the 12-year journey of the film’s creations with candid behind-the-scenes footage and interviews interspersed with actual scenes from the feature (including the end, so steer clear if you have yet to view).
Along the way, Lorelei Linklater recalls (and pokes fun at) her father’s Waking Life, while we get to see Ellar Coltrane from the early days of casting all the way up to his emotional final shot. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette also chime in regarding their participation and the overall themes of the project.
