With the Mortal Kombat reboot hitting theaters at some point in the relatively near future, Oren Uziel is setting his sights on another action centered project; Variety has informed us that Sony has reeled in Neal H. Moritz‘s Original Films to produce an untitled pitch from the scribe.

Although plot details are currently under wraps, he’s something for you guys to ponder about — it’s been “described as Die Hard meets Home Alone.” I can’t really decide if that intrigues or terrifies me, but that’s what we know right now. Ori Marmur will oversee the project for Original, with Lauren Abrahams looking out for Sony.

This marks the second film between Sony and and Uziel; he sold them the spec script Kitchen Sink, which is an alien invasion comedy. With his career just starting out, it’s hard to comment on Uziel‘s past filmography, but if they’re trusting him to pen a Mortal Kombat script, he has to be worth keeping an eye on. Maybe.

Are you excited to see a film with Die Hard and Home Alone elements?
