Director Jon Cassar, to be exact. Dreamworks has signed the 24 helmer to direct Motorcade, an action thriller revolving around a “disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the U.S. president is kidnapped in New York.” [Variety]. Ryan “Green Lantern and Deadpool and anything else hot right now” Reynolds is set to be said agent.
This project has been high priority for Dreamworks, with names such as Tom Cruise attached at one point.
Cassar seems to be the perfect fit when considering what 24 was: a series of season-long blockbusters about a disgraced – then not disgraced – g0verment agent. Reynolds will do this after completely Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern.
