If Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford, respectively, reciting the lines “You stood on my shoulders!” “And now I’m standing on your neck!” is something that can be tolerated, chances say the trailer for Robert Luketic‘s Paranoia — despite making the case for a title change to 21st-Century Technological Thriller: The Movie — is worth a glance. Starring Liam Hemsworth as a hotshot looker climbing his way up the corporate ladder, it would appear to be surprise-free in nearly every respect — if, again, still with a smidgen of entertainment value, possibly for these very reasons.

A decent supporting cast — Richard Dreyfuss, Amber Heard, and Josh Holloway — ought to help out a bit, though any movie with this wide, trustworthy collection of talent should be inspiring more reaction; alas, the director of 21 and The Ugly Truth is not the central issue with what’s on display. Here’s hoping Paranoia turns out a bit more worthwhile than what this initial assembly of footage would otherwise make us think.
