Actress Jane Levy has already caught the attention of horror fans for her role in Evil Dead, mainly due to her prominence in the remake’s red and green band trailers. Now it seems the genre will see more of the Suburgatory star – a couple months before she makes her debut as a demon-possessed woman, Levy has signed onto another ghoulish project.

Levy will lead In a Dark Place, a horror thriller from Pitch Perfect financier Gold Circle. The film follows an American woman who moves to England after being hired as a governess. Instead of a child, however, her employers expect her to care for a porcelain doll as if it was their son. When the family leaves for a holiday, the woman begins to suspect the doll is haunted and may be alive. Think of it as Chucky for Anglophiles.

Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) will direct, with Roy Lee and Jim Wedaa serving as producers. Production on In a Dark Place is planned for May. [THR]

Do you think In a Dark Place is a good choice for Levy? Is she on track to become the next scream queen?
