Considering the sheer amount of projects the actress takes part, her non-Godzilla films sometimes take a little longer to reach U.S. screens. While we’re still awaiting a release date for Olivier Assayas‘ Clouds of Sils Maria, today brings news on when we’ll finally see her war drama 1,000 Times Good Night, along with a U.S. trailer.
Coming from director Erik Poppe, the film sees her starring opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) as a top war photographer who struggles to balance her dangerous career and family life. While the preview below (via Fandango) is actually shorter than a U.K version from earlier this year, it still sells a strong drama. Check it out below, along with the poster, for the film arriving in October.
Rebecca is one of the world’s top war photographers. On assignment while photographing a female suicide bomber in Kabul, she gets to near, and gets badly hurt. Back home another bomb drops. Her husband and daughters can no longer bear the thought of her dying while at work. She is given an ultimatum: Her work, or her family life. The choice seems obvious.
Rebecca swears to Marcus that she will never go to a war zone again. Yet the conviction that her photos can make a difference keeps pulling at her resolve, making it difficult for her to live a normal life as a mother and wife. Then comes an offer to photograph a refugee camp in Kenya, a place allegedly so safe that daughter Steph is allowed to join her mother…
1,000 Times Good Night hits theaters and VOD on October 24th.
