Jessica Alba fans rejoice! It seems that the heartthrob actress is heading back behind the lens of Robert Rodriguez’s camera for his new flick Machete. Not only will she be the lead character, but you’ll get a Double Impact effect of seeing the actress play double.
“I play identical twins. One’s bad and one’s good,” Alba reveals. “There’s a ton of action in it. My character does a bit. I got to do some action finally again.” [source MTV (via The Playlist)]
Alba also mentioned that the film is a return to Rodriguez’s action orientated old school roots such as Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and El Mariachi. If you’ve seen Grindhouse, you’ve already seen the over the top trailer for Machete, but will the concept hold up for a feature film? I think Jessica Alba in double vision is enough of an incentive for most. Did I mention there’s one more golden gem about this film? Steven Segal is in it…’nuff said.
