Xavier Gens has been attached to direct the horror thriller House of Horror for producer James Wan. According to STYD, this will mark the first project under the Wan/Icon Entertainment partnership, with first time writer Max La Bella scribing.
Here is a short snippet of the previously-released synopsis for the project:
“The House of Horror is a horror-thriller that centers around a gruesome crime scene. The film is shot with a blend of found footage, interrogation video, new cameras and classic cinematography. The film focuses on the aftermath of a horrific massacre; five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home.”
This isn’t Gens‘ first time directing a horror movie of this magnitude, his 2007 film Frontier(s) is packed with gore and violence, which seems like a must for horror movies today. The story seems pretty standard, but Wan‘s involvement in the Saw films as well as his latest horror flick, Insidious, could definitely make this horror project something to look out for, if excess blood is something you enjoy that is.
Gens‘ latest sci-fi thriller, The Divide, will be released in January with House of Horror going in production next year and likely hitting theaters sometime in 2013.
