If you’re as excited about Cogan’s Trade as I am, then this next bit will be at least mildly interesting. I use “mildly” quite readily because, as Nick Newman so aptly pointed out earlier today, photos from the set are hardly ever worthwhile (especially lo-res candid ones like this). But like I said, it is Cogan’s Trade, Andrew Dominik‘s follow-up to the outstandingly wonderful western that went criminally overlooked by Oscar, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

The film reunites Dominik with Brad Pitt in the lead role as Jackie Cogan (pictured below via Just Jared), “a hit man’s point person who becomes involved in the investigation of a heist against the mob that takes place during a high-stakes poker game” orchestrated by Mark “Markie” Trattman (Ray Liotta). [ComingSoon] Also joining Pitt and Liotta (although not pictured) are the likes of James Gandolfini, Sam Rockwell and Mark Ruffalo, among others.

Some photos below:

In lieu of commenting on Pitt’s slick and greasy look, I’ll just jump to this photo of him at LAX. Last time I checked, actors didn’t go to and from set in costume, let alone galavant through an airport in costume, so I don’t think this is what we can look forward to seeing him wear when Cogan’s Trade hits theaters. You can check out the rest of the photos in Just Jared’s gallery. The film is currently shooting in New Orleans and will hit theaters in the first half of 2012.

Are you excited for Cogan’s Trade? What do you think of the photos?
