We’ve seen filmmakers play around with aging and time in everything from the recent Interstellar to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button to The Fountain and today we have our first look at one that takes on a more romantic approach. The Age of Adaline follows Blake Lively as a woman who was born in the early 1900’s, but after an accident, is rendered ageless.

“It sounds like wish fulfillment to look like Blake Lively forever. But she cannot grow old with anyone,” director Lee Toland Krieger explains to USA Today. “In a world consumed with youth and vanity, there’s something very fresh and beautiful about a story focusing on the beauty of growing old. I’d like to think you walk away from this thinking love conquers all, even immortality.”

The director of the indie dramas Celese & Jesse Forever and The Vicious Kind will be upping his scope here and the results look like one of the more promising entries in the romantic drama genre as of late. Check out the trailer and poster below for the film also starring Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn.

The Age of Adaline opens on April 24th, 2015.
