When a film comes out in a matter of weeks and you’ve never heard of it before, chances are the prospects aren’t strong. Such is the case with Killing Season, an action thriller rip-off of The Hunted (which itself took from a great many films) coming from Mark Steven Johnson, the man that brought us works like When in Rome, Ghost Rider and Daredevil.
Led by Robert De Niro and John Travolta, the film sees them paying off their mortgage and lavish vacations, while the actual story follows them having a one-on-one battle in the Appalachian mountains. It looks like your generic bargain bin entertainment, but somehow the film is planning a theatrical release on July 12th, along with a more fitting VOD release on the same day.
