To celebrate Veterans Day weekend, Relativity Media has launched a new trailer for their action film starring actual Navy SEALS, Act of Valor. Crave Online has the new piece, which shows off a bit more of what looks like a thin kidnapping plot. The pace is also amped up compared to the first trailer, with a few more action setpieces on display. I’m just not entirely sure what the appeal of this film, as I’d much rather just play the latest Modern Warfare and Battlefield to similar effect since this doesn’t seem to offer anything new on a storytelling level. Written by Kurt Johnstad (300) and directed by the guys behind many of their recruitment videos, Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh (who worked on stunts for Bad Boys II, Speed, Spider-Man and many more), check out the second trailer below.
Synopsis:
When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.
Act of Valor hits theaters on February 17th, 2012.
