While Alfonso Cuarón adhered to the truth that there is no sound in space with his upcoming thriller Gravity, it won’t be a near-silent experience. Composer Steven Price, who is coming off Attack the Block and The World’s End, has crafted a pulsating, hauntingly beautiful score for the Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-led film. Following the film’s premiere on the festival circuit (our TIFF review here) and with just a few weeks left until release, we’ve got the full thing to listen to today.

“Alfonso was always very determined that the soundtrack be immersive,” the composer told Wired, who premiered the soundtrack. “As you sit in the theatre, the score literally moves around you and seeks to complement the weightless movement of the outer space visuals. We want you to feel within the experience. In order to achieve this, we recorded separately a wide range of elements, including glass harmonicas, voices, and string and brass sections of various sizes so as to allow a lot of freedom in both movement and also post-recording processing. Elements come and go, pulsate and transform, and follow the movements onscreen in a way that will hopefully add to the total cinematic experience of Gravity.”

Check it out in full below or pick it up on Amazon and we’ve also included the full TIFF press conference, if you missed it.

Gravity opens on October 4th.
