It was back in May when AT&T released a series of Werner Herzog-directed infomercials concerning texting and driving, the content of which is as sobering as such a combination would suggest. It turns out these were only part of a larger picture: unveiled, today, is a complete 35-minute documentary, From One Second to the Next, expanding the previously provided material while introducing new stories of equally tragic consequence.
This makes for a tough watch, of course, but the issue at hand is one that has a near-constant chance of plaguing almost everyone who will view it — a quality that even many of the greatest documentaries cannot claim to possess. For this, both Herzog and AT&T deserve commendation.
