There’s not a lot for the moviegoing public to glean regarding the specifics of when most films actually begin production — just serving as a stamp of confirmation that one day soon we’ll see it in theaters. But when it comes to some oft-rumored projects, it’s nice to know that they are moving ahead and today we’ve got news on when two will be gearing up.
First up, following their ambitious (and stellar) Cloud Atlas, the next project for the Wachowski siblings has long been talked about, but now we know when it will actually start shooting. The sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending, starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, has gotten some completely wild details and now, speaking with Collider, the Magic Mike star said that production is set for this February. One has to assume the box office of Cloud Atlas has a little say whether or not Tatum’s word becomes true, but it’s exciting we won’t have to wait long for another film from The Matrix directors. Tatum increased anticipation, adding that “you can’t even imagine” what is in store and that the duo are “going to change the game again.”
Moving on, we got word this summer that The Weinstein Company had set a October 4th, 2013 release date for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller‘s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the upcoming sequel to their 2005 hit, and now it looks like things are moving along as planned. Star Rosario Dawson confirmed to MTV that a November start date is in the works and one can see her expand on some more details below in the video, for the film also seeing (at least) Michael Madsen, Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke return.
