Coming off the holiday weekend, we knew news would be slow. But not this slow. Yes, we have an international trailer for the forth film in the Ice Age saga. I don’t particularly mind the films, and I even admire the visual storytelling at play with the Scrat character, but I’ve never actively looked forward to seeing one of them. Blue Sky Studios are on a streak though, with this year’s Rio a huge box-office hit, and while I would like to see another original project from them, I understand their reasons for making another one of these.

The latest trailer features more Scrat adventures and you can see it below for the film also featuring voice acting from Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer, Drake, Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk, Nick Frost and Joy Behar.

Synopsis:

Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.

Ice Age: Continental Drift hits theaters July 13th, 2012.
