Recently hitting screens in Québec, Xavier Dolan‘s Mommy was honored with being Canada’s official submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars next year. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long for it to hit U.S. screens as Roadside Attractions have announced a January 2015 release, along with debuting the first theatrical trailer here.
Following a widowed single mother who is raising her violent son alone and finds new hope when a mysterious neighbor inserts herself into their household, one can read our Cannes review of the Jury Prize winner here. As we await the specific January bow, check out the trailer below (via First Showing) for the film starring Anne Dorval, Suzanne Clément and Antoine-Olivier Pilon, and make sure to watch Dolan discuss his latest project at TIFF here.
Mommy will be released in January.
