I’m not sure how this actually gets us excited for the next computer animated feature from Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski, but it most definitely is a teaser. The film features Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Ray Winstone, Beth Grant, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton and Alfred Molina. /Film has some interesting news on the Zemeckis-esque technology used to make the film.
“Industrial Light & Magic will be doing the animation using “cutting edge techniques” that Verbinski has said, “will allow us to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny’s performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen in an animated feature.”
Plot: The story of a chameleon with an identity crisis. (yep, that’s it.)
Rango hits theaters March 2011.
