Although she won’t be seen in any English-language films this year, Penelope Cruz recently got back to her roots for Ma Ma, a new film from Julio Medem. Following the actress as an unemployed teacher afflicted with breast cancer, it’s said to be getting a release in Spain this September, so we can likely expect it on the festival circuit soon. Heavily switching gears, we also have the first images from the latest action-comedy by Napoleon Dynamite‘s Jared Hess, Masterminds. Starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, and Ken Marino, it follows a night guard at an armored car company in the Southern U.S. who organizes one of the biggest bank heists in American history. Opening on August 14th, let’s hope it fares better than his last feature.
