With his Gangster Squad now pushed back to 2013, Ruben Fleischer is pushing forward on some other projects, as casting comes in for one of his producing efforts, Two Night Stand. Set to be helmed by music video director Max Nichols, the film has added to big up-and-coming young Hollywood stars, Variety reports.
Miles Teller, who gave an excellent performance in Rabbit Hole and was last seen in Project X and the Footloose remake, has been set as the male lead. For the female cohort, Crazy, Stupid, Love. and Damsels in Distress star Analeigh Tipton has come aboard. Mark Hammer‘s Black List script tells the story of a “man and woman trapped in his apartment after a one-night stand because of a terrible snowstorm outside — forcing them to get to know each other far more.”
The concept is actually halfway decent and I liked the one-room idea taken somewhere other than your normal horror/thriller genre fare. With Fleischer also coming from a music video background into his successful debut with Zombieland, hopefully he can pass the same guidance to Nichols. And they’ve already got two talented actors to start things out right.
Production begins this September for a likely 2013 release.
