Despite earlier rumors of Robin McLeavy getting the Mary Todd role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, THR reports Mary Elizabeth Winstead has snagged it. The Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and upcoming The Thing star will lead alongside Benjamin Walker as Abraham Lincoln.
Timur Bekmambetov‘s blockbuster follow-up to Wanted, based on the book by Seth Graham-Smith, follows the “coming-of-age tale about the future president discovering the existence of blood-sucking vamps. It then follows Lincoln through his political career and the Civil War, and ends during the aftermath of his assassination.” Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie also star, the latter of whom spilled some details to MTV, most notably that the film can be described as Gladiator meets The Matrix.
