Although much of the talk regarding Kristen Stewart the last half-of-a-decade involved The Twilight Saga and all things therein, one may have missed one of her finest performances yet. Taking part in the independent drama, Adventureland, the actress starred alongside Jesse Eisenberg and now they are set to reteam, however, this time, it will be for an action comedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo are set to star in American Ultra, which comes from director Nima Nourizadeh, who helmed the raucous party movie Project X. This project will team him with Max Landis, the writer behind Chronicle, which was also a found-footage surprise hit in spring of last year. Eisenberg takes the role of a pothead named who lives a simple life in a small town with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart). Everything changes, however, when something from his past comes back to haunt him and the government wants to take him down.
Production is set to kick off this April, but before that, Stewart will shoot a small role in Tim Blake Nelson‘s Leaves of Grass follow-up Anesthesia. Deadline doesn’t have details of her character, but with a plot that follows New Yorkers who are all positively affected by the same philosophy professor, perhaps she’ll take the role of a student. Expect that film to hit the 2014 festival circuit, alongside one of our most-anticipated films of next year featuring the actress, Olivier Assayas‘ Sils Maria.
Are you looking forward to both projects?
