While only having a brief role in Hot Fuzz, Paddy Considine made a hilarious impression as officer DS Andy Wainwright. Now he’s set to join the gang of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost again for an apocalyptic good time. Production begins next month in the UK for The World’s End and now Considine has hopped on board as part of the “epic pub crawl.”
Variety reports he will play “a former ladies man and musician who has grown up to be a divorced architect.” So far we only know one female role, as Rosamund Pike previously joined as Pegg’s previous love interest. This not only marks a great addition, but another uptick in Considine’s ever-growing career, as the actor recently surprised with his stark, impressive directorial debut Tyrannosaur. Check out a synopsis below for The World’s End below, along with the teaser poster if you missed it.
“20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
Expect The World’s End in theaters in 2013.
