Deborah Ann Woll, best known for her continuing role as the vampire Jessica Hamby on HBO’s True Blood, has joined the cast of He Loves Me, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

An indie dramedy from directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the team behind Little Miss Sunshine, He Loves Me stars Paul Dano as a successful young novelist who just went through a hard break up. To get over his writer’s block, he writes about an imaginary woman who he thinks will love him. In the process, he wills his dream girl into existence. “Think Adaptation meets Weird Science.” [LA Times]

Woll plays Dano’s ex-girlfriend, another writer who just finished her first novel. The He Loves Me cast also includes Steve Coogan, Elliot Gould, Chris Messina, and Annette Bening. Zoe Kazan (Breaking Upwards), who wrote the film and is Dano’s real-life girlfriend, will play the love interest. Now that’s casting. He Loves Me is being produced by Albert Berga and Ron Yexger, the production team behind Little Miss Sunshine. It does not yet have an official release date.

In the meantime, Woll can be seen in the currently running fourth season of True Blood, and in the upcoming indie Seven Days in Utopia alongside Robert Duvall, Melissa Leo, and Lucas Black. That film’s (lengthy) synopsis can be found on it’s official website. You can catch it this fall.
