One only needs to take a quick glance at the summer movie line-up to learn that sci-fi is king. This summer has seen its fair share of offerings, but next summer will bring even more entries and we’ve got a new look at a major one today. Coming from Warner Bros., who recently released two films in the genre (Man of Steel and Pacific Rim), they’ll release the Wachowskis‘ Jupiter Ascending, Godzilla and All You Need is Kill in 2014.
Following an image of a mech suit-equipped Tom Cruise, a new still, above, has arrived from the lattermost sci-fi thriller from Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith). Featuring 100% less explosions, it does add Emily Blunt, who plays Rita Vrataski, a highly decorated U.S. Special forces soldier who is caught in a loop with Cruise’s character., one of his own death on the battlefield while fighting an alien force. Judging from the synopsis, this could be an intriguing Source Code-esque, big-budget actioner. On the smaller scale of things, but a project we’re certainly anticipating more, WB has also debuted a new image of Sandra Bullock and George Clooney hard at work in space in Alfonso Cuaron‘s Gravity, which can be seen below.
Gravity lands on October 4th and All You Need is Kill opens on June 6th, 2014.
Are you looking forward to both of these sci-fi projects?
