With the inherent difficulty of getting a film produced, many actors-turned-directors often make that effort just once before the upward battle becomes too laborious. Such is not the case with Ralph Fiennes. He debuted his Shakespeare adaptation Coriolanus last year and he’s already shooting his next feature, The Invisible Woman.
We’ve got the first look today at the director, who stars as Charles Dickens, as well as his significant other, played by Felicity Jones (Like Crazy). Abi Morgan (Shame) has adapted Claire Tomalin‘s novel, which tells of the 13-year affair between Dickens and Nelly Ternan, a woman who was 27 years the beloved author’s junior. Tom Hollander (In the Loop, Hanna) and Kristin Scott Thomas (Sarah’s Key, The English Patient) round out the cast. Check out the images above and below via Empire for the film we expect to arrive in 2013.
