Dreamworks is on fire today, debuting a new trailer for Kung Fu Panda 2 as well as a teaser for the Shrek spin-off, Puss in Boots. This animated off-shoot will serve as a prequel to the Shrek series, detailing Puss’s pre-ogre adventures. Take a look at the teaser.

Synopsis
Puss In Boots – one of the most beloved characters of the Shrek universe – tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss’s (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs
The company, which has already run the Shrek story into the ground, has deservedly been criticized for favoring quantity over quality. However, they have also created some deeply moving animated features, including Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, which also has a sequel in development. Sadly, this spin-off is helmed by Chris Miller, the director of Shrek the Third, the worst-reviewed of the franchise. Pair this with this stale trailer, and my hopes are not high.
