Stephen Chow, prolific comedic martial arts actor and director, is rumored to be starting production on a loose remake of Bruce Lee’s comedic action flick The Way of the Dragon. Under the title Tai Chi, Chow intends to bring his unique form of kung-fu action and humor to mainstream American audiences. He’s also bringing some star power to help him do it, in the form of Jack Black and Anne Hathaway along with an oversized American budget of $60 million.

The original film, directed by Lee, featured a memorable fight scene with Chuck Norris and, unlike his other films which are mostly dramatic/action, this one is pure action comedy. Chow, who was originally supposed to appear in The Green Hornet film as Kato, is long over due for a proper American introduction, so this could potentially be a very memorable debut.
