The onslaught of new images from Toronto International Film Festival continues, following the initial line-up reveal. Today brings our first look at the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic, All Is By My Side. Featuring none other than André Benjamin aka André 3000 of Outkast fame in the lead role, the film follows Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, who left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned — as Jimi Hendrix. Also starring Imogen Poots, Hayley Atwell, Ruth Negga and Adrian Leste, check out the fairly convincing image above.
Next up we have a batch of new images from what is easily one of our most-anticipated films of the festival, Richard Ayoade‘s The Double, a follow-up to his stellar debut Submarine. Featuring Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska, the story follows Simon, timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite — confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life. Check out the images below for the film also starring Wallace Shawn and Noah Taylor.
TIFF kicks off on September 5th.
