Having reported that Mark Wahlberg will be starring in Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane‘s feature debut Ted, more casting news has surfaced from CinemaBlend, via THR. Longtime Family Guy alumnus Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the voice of Meg Griffin on FG) and laconic funnyman Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation, Party Down) are in talks to join Wahlberg in the surreal-sounding buddy comedy.

According to reports, Kunis could play Wahlberg’s girlfriend, whose attempts to propel their relationship to the next level are thwarted by Wahlberg’s best friend, a foul-mouthed, real-life teddy bear. Adam Scott might play her “cad of a boss,” who she turns to in her vulnerable state.

This would be Scott’s first collaboration with Macfarlane, while he and Kunis go way back. This is one of those projects which could turn out to be inspired or an utter disaster. Macfarlane’s creations – Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show – speak for themselves. You’re either a fan or you hate the guy. His flagship series has been pretty uneven in quality the past two or three seasons, but if he can drive this movie home it could signal a new, overdue path into feature films.

Does Ted sound promising to you? Are you a Macfarlane fan?
