Quite possibly the most entertaining – and cinema-historically accurate – parts of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s retro-exploitation double-feature, Grindhouse, was the series of fake movie trailers that introduced the film.  Despite great efforts by filmmakers like Eli Roth and Edgar Wright, the faux trailer that whipped up the most rabid fan frenzy was Rodriguez’s Machete.

The two-and-a-half minute trailer about a once “decent man who must now slaughter to stay alive” was so popular, in fact, that Rodriguez decided to go ahead and make it a full-length production – with the aide, of course, of his long-time buddy QT.

Comingsoon.net reported yesterday that the full cast of the Austin-based production has been released. Aside from Danny Trejo reprising his role as the aptly-named Machete, the film will also feature Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Don Johnson, Steven Seagal, Jeff Fahey and the always impressive Robert De Niro.

What do you think about the star-studded cast of Machete?
