After making a string of fairly expensive tentpoles, each not going over very well with audiences, to put it lightly, M. Night Shyamalan is perhaps returning to his roots with his next feature. Greatly reducing his standard budget, he teamed with producer Jason Blum and self-financed The Visit, only to be picked up by Universal Pictures after they saw the final product.

Set for a release early this fall, we now have the first trailer, which was attached to Unfriended last weekend, but is now available online. The story follows a pair of siblings who venture to their grandparents’ house only to discover disturbing occurrences at night. Starring Kathryn Hahn, Deanna Dunagan, Peter McRobbie, Ed Oxenbould and Olivia DeJonge, check out the trailer below along with a pair of posters and an international verson.

Shyamalan returns to his roots with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.
