Just last week news broke of a surreptitiously shot Shakespeare movie created by Joss Whedon’s new micro-studio Bellwether Pictures. And now, Deadline is making much ado about Bellwether’s next venture, a soon-to-shoot supernatural romance penned by Whedon called In Your Eyes. Fellow Bellwether co-founder/wife of Whedon Kai Cole will produce while Brin Hill, who directed the 2008 drama Ball Don’t Lie, will helm the film, which Whedon describes as, “a pretty timeless romance.”

In Your Eyes is fully funded and slated to shoot this February, yet details on its plot are scarce. What we do know is  “In Your Eyes is a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.” And if this feature has anything in common with Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing, it’s likely the cast will include a cavalcade of Whedon’s past collaborators, which may now include members of The Avengers.

While the filmmakers are being allusive about Bellwether’s Eyes, producer Michael Roiff of Night & Day Pictures has assured, “Pairing Joss’ fantastic script with Brin’s vision as a filmmaker will make for a truly special film.” For his part, Whedon, who is known for rambunctious and romantic press releases/announcements has offered, “When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house…now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece), I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”

Who would you like to see perform In Your Eyes? Do you share Whedon’s enthusiasm for his latest love story?
