We’ve known it as The Twylight Zones for more than a year, but David Chase‘s period drama is now getting a title adjustment. As HollywoodElsewhere (via ThePlaylist) has informed us, the project can now be referred to as Not Fade Away.

This is one that holds interest for much of us, due to the fact that it’s the first thing Chase has done after the 2007 conclusion of his hugely successful gangster show The Sopranos. For his anticipated return, he’s reunited with James Gandolfini, as well as Jack Huston, Will Brill, John Magaro, Brad Garrett, Bella Heathcote and Lisa Lampanelli. The project is “a coming-of-age tale about three Italian-American kids (Magaro, Brill, Huston) who form a rock band in the 1960s.”

There’s a rather blatant connection between the film’s new title, the subject matter and the era: a famous hit song by Buddy Holly. If you want to emulate all of those aforementioned topics, channeling the glasses-donning rock star is a pretty good move to draw in an older audience — as well as those old at heart, musically speaking.

Not Fade Away will be released on October 12th.

Do you have any thoughts on this title change, or the project in general?
