The Film Stage was created by editor-in-chief Jordan Raup and managing editor Daniel Mecca in the fall of 2008. Our original site was on blogspot.com where we aimed to simply talk about film. Our first film-related event we covered was the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.
With our sister music site One Thirty BPM, on Jan 5th, 2009 we acquired the independent domain we are on now. We’ve since grown into a leading film resource online as The Film Stage is dedicated to bringing you the most up-to-date film news as well as extensive film festival coverage, reviews, original features, articles, and interviews.

As you can witness in the chart above, 2009 saw steady growth for the site. Through staff expansion and increased focus on delivering content, 2010 brought a large spike and we’ve continued to see a month-by-month rise in readership. The site has also gone through a few redesigns to precisely deliver our content in the most streamlined manner possible. Our social web presence on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and other platforms has also seen extended growth. Check out the charts below.
