UPDATE: Picture removed at the request of Intrepid Pictures.

JCVD was one of the more interesting project of the last decade, a pseudo-documentary about Jean-Claude Van Damme himself. The actor gave one of his best performances in a long time and the film had a slick, gritty style. Now director Mabrouk El Mechri has lined up his next project and found an actor to lead, Heat Vision reports.

Henry Cavill (The Tudors) will lead The Cold Light of Day for Intrepid Pictures and Summit. The film follows “a cocky young Wall Street trader who reluctantly vacations with his family in Spain. When his family is kidnapped, he is thrust into a government conspiracy and must unravel his father’s darkest secret in order to save his loved ones.”

Ransom and The Wire writer Richard Price is doing a rewrite on the original script by Scott Wiper and John Petro.

Filming starts on September 6 in Alicante, Spain but there is already a teaser poster, which you can check out below. Cavill will next star as Theseus in Tarsem Singh‘s Immortals.
