After celebrating his 75th birthday over the summer, Dustin Hoffman is about as accomplished as Hollywood actors come, but recently he has ventured into a new arena of Hollywood. The Oscar-winner debuted his first directorial effort at the Toronto International Film Festival and now ahead of a December release from The Weinstein Company, we’ve got a few pieces of media from the drama.

Titled Quartet, one can see the theatrical trailer, the first clip, as well as a featurette for the film that stars Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Tom Courtenay and Michael Gambon. Following a group of opera singers in a retirement home and the old wounds between them that some can’t let go, it’s certainly not for the younger demographic, but judging from these materials it looks like Hoffman has directed a charming, honest look at this time period in one’s life. Check it out below.

Quartet arrives on December 28th.
