Third ‘Haywire’ Trailer Shows Extended Michael Fassbender Beatdown

Written by on January 4, 2012

With just weeks before it’s January 20 release date, viewers are getting yet another glimpse at the movie that has MMA fighter Gina Carano beating the daylights out of every major male star working today. The third official trailer for director Steven Soderburgh‘s action thriller contains much of the footage seen in earlier previews, including the diner fight with Channing Tatum and plenty of kicking, punching and general badassness.

The big difference, however, is the extended footage of the epic hotel room throwdown between the rogue operative Mallory (Carano) and Michael Fassbender‘s trained assassin. I won’t give too much away, but in the sage words of ZZ Top, she’s got legs (and thighs, for that matter), and she knows how to use them. Check it out below via Crave.

Synopsis:

Mallory Kane is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive. Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious—and dangerous—trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.

Also starring Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, and Antonio Banderas, Haywire opens on January 20th.
