I hadn’t seen Gattaca in years, so I picked up the Blu-ray this weekend and  was still mesmerized by the entertainment and smarts factor Andrew Niccol was able to pack into that sci-fi feature. Almost 15 years and a handful of movies later, he releasing another film in the genre with In Time. We’ve seen a few trailers and a 4-minute reel, and now we have another international preview.

I’m starting to buy Timberlake as an action star and if anyone can sell this concept, it is Niccol. Coupled with cinematography from Roger Deakins, this could be one of the most enjoyable times at the theater this year. Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matthew Bomer also lead the cast and you can see the trailer below via The Playlist.

Synopsis:

“In Time” presents a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there’s a catch: you’re genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich “earn” decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage. Living minute to minute, the duo’s love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system.

In Time hits theaters October 28th, 2011.
