After Lars von Trier gave her a major role in Nymphomaniac, Stacy Martin will return this fall with a new thriller. Titled Taj Mahal, the story focuses on a terrorist hostage situation in 2008 at the famous hotel located at the titular place. Ahead of a premiere at Venice, the first trailer has now landed.

Scripted and directed by Nicolas Saada (who gave us the story behind the thrilling Sleepless Night), the film specifically follows Martin’s character, as she sees the events from her room. Also starring Alba Rohrwacher, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, and Gina McKee, the trailer doesn’t have English subtitles, but it presents an intriguing scenario. Check it out below for the film seeking U.S. distribution.

One evening, while her parents go out for dinner, 18-year-old Louise, alone in her hotel room at Taj Mahal Mumbai, hears strange noises out in the corridor. Within minutes, she realises that a terrorist attack is underway. Her only connection to the outside world is her cell phone, which allows her to maintain contact with her father, who is desperately trying to reach her from the other side of a city that has been plunged into chaos. Louise must spend a long night alone in the face of danger. She will never be the same again.

Taj Mahal premieres at Venice Film Festival and hits theaters in France on October 7th.
