After playing a Daisy in this summer’s overlooked debut from Geoffrey Fletcher, Saoirse Ronan will once again get to don the name in a very different project. While it was barely on our radar considering the first look arrived well over a year ago, Kevin Macdonald‘s How I Live Now is finally ready for release and with that, the first trailer has landed.
Having not read Meg Rosoff’s novel it’s based on, consider my surprise at this first look at footage, which segues from a standard-looking romantic drama to nuclear war and a grounded thriller. It actually looks like fairly promising stuff, although the lack of festival presence thus far is a bit disconcerting, as it’ll simply head into U.K. theaters in October.
