In the land of Hollywood, there seems to be at least one general rule that is agreed upon: if you’re doing a remake, you must go bigger. While this usually leads to bloated tentpoles that throw away what made the original work, Warner Bros. seem to be heading down that path with their update on Point Break.
Expanding to a globe-spanning, extreme sports-packed thriller, Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey take on the roles originally made famous by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. The first trailer has now landed, which features some stylish action setpieces as one might expect from director Ericson Core, who shot The Fast and the Furious and more, but Kurt Wimmer‘s screenplay already looks quite lacking just from the few exchanges we’re given.

In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller “Point Break,” a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes – led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez).
