After Alexandre Aja delivered the insane bloodbath known as Pirahna 3D last summer, I feared no other director could match the tone and self-aware craziness faster of that horror flick. The first trailer for its sequel Piranha 3DD gives me hope Written by Feast I-III screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan and directed by those film’s helmer John Gulager, this teaser includes all the elements of the original and the added bonus of David Hasselhoff.
Ving Rhames and Christopher Lloyd return to lead the film, with help from Paul Scheer (yes, he is back), Danielle Panabaker, Gary Busey, Meagan Tandy, David Koechner, Chris Zylka, Héctor Jiménez, Clu Gulager, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Matt Bush, Katrina Bowden, Paul James Jordan, Adrian Martinez and Thomas Hall. Piranha 3DD was recently moved to an undetermined 2012 date.
