A few months ago we thought we’d be getting the fantasy epic Pan this weekend, but Warner Bros. elected to move the film to October — a more promising sign than their Jupiter Ascending/Jack the Giant Slayer dead zone of February/March. Coming from period costume drama connoisseur Joe Wright, we now have the new full-length trailer for the reimagining of the a classic tale. J.M. Barrie‘s Peter Pan. Featuring more high-flying action, including a fun-looking aerial battle between pirate ships, we’re hoping Wright’s visual style does wonders here.

In related news, perhaps the biggest star of the ensemble, Hugh Jackman, has been forced to drop an upcoming project thanks to his involvement with a new Wolverine film. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon‘s Me and Earl and the Dying Girl,  follow-up Collateral Beauty was set to star Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, and Jason Segel, but now Jackman has left the story following a New York ad exec whose coworkers break him out of depression in an unexpected way with equally unexpected results. Deadline reports that they are eying Johnny Depp to now take part and we’ll find out if he is confirmed by fall when production begins.

Also starring Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Adeel Akhtar, Levi Miller, Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan, Lewis MacDougall, Leni Zieglmeier, Jack Charles, and Amanda Seyfried, check out the trailer below.

Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the action adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny—to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.
