Although we recently got the sad news that Hayao Mizayaki is officially hanging up his hat in a directing capacity, Studio Ghibili will live on as it births new talent and encourages other creatives. The animation master’s last film, The Wind Rises, will be hitting in limited release early next month for an Oscar-qualifying run before an official February bow, but today brings an update on other film from the studio.

Following the first teaser, another trailer has landed for the next film by Grave of the Fireflies director Isao Takahata. Titled The Tale of Princess Kaguya (Kaguya-hime no Monogatari), the story follows a bamboo cutter, Taketori no Okina, who slices open a stalk to find a thumb-sized baby inside, one who grows into a princess. While this trailer is light on story, it gives us a glimpse at the fascinating animation style being used, marking a departure for the studio. Although it hits Japanese theaters next month, no U.S. distribution has been found yet and one can check out the trailer below via First Showing.

What do you think of the new trailer?
